Michael's Indiana Jones Cake 
Bobby's Pirate Cake
Well, we survived Bobby and Michael's Adventure party for their 8th birthday. It was pretty crazy, but fun. We had about 12 eight year olds at our house celebrating... and wrestling. And more wrestling. What is with these boys and wrestling? I will spare you the video. I really didn't need to plan activities - they could have wrestled the entire time. But for the sake of the one cute and brave girl who came, we opted for the party games.
1. We started by making a craft - a telescope. Not too fancy, but kept them busy while guests arrived.
2. Ate dinner. Hot dogs, mini peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chips, and drinks. Plenty of popcorn to snack on too. (Aren't we so nutricious?)
3. Played Games.
The first game was an obstacle course relay race... Two teams. Michael's team was Indiana Jones and Bobby's team was Pirates. They had to dress like Indy or Pirate, then jump over the snakes, climb over a mountain (table), swim through a river (a blue mat), and walk the plank (gymnastics beam).
The second game was the Mummy Wrap. Using a roll of toilet paper, the teams had to wrap Michael and Bobby like a mummy. The first team to finish their roll of TP was the winner. BTW, Michael made a very good mummy!
The last game was a chance to hunt for buried treasure. We hid lots of pennies and small toys and spiders in the sand and they kids had one minute to find as much treasure as they could. This was my favorite game.
4. We brought out the cakes and sang Happy Birthday! Michael's cake was Indiana Jones and Bobby's was a Pirate Adventure cake.
5. While Tim and I got the cake and ice cream ready, Bobby and Michael opened their presents. They are so thankful for every present they received! And they can't wait to go shopping and spend their money. They want to buy more Webkins.
6. After the presents, we served the cake and ice cream.
7. With 5 minutes to go, we brought out the Pirate map with the first clue to the Treasure Hunt. After several clues and a lot of running through the house, they found the treasure hidden in the dryer! There was a mini treasure box filled with candy, small toys and chocolate coins for everyone to take home.
We had such a great time. I know Bobby and Michael had a wonderful birthday. Thanks to all their awesome friends for helping them celebrate!

Yep, they are lego sets. Bobby and Michael loved that they were already put together for them. Michael was like, "Look Bobby, we don't even have to put them together!"
Thanks for inviting Carson he had a great time at the party. He just loves to hang out with Bobby.
